High School Varsity Baseball/Softball:
Adirondack Baseball beat Canastota 18-4.
Adirondack Softball beat Canastota 8-0.
Lowville Softball beat Carthage 17-0. McKailey Lyndaker tossed a no-hitter for Lowville!
South Lewis Baseball beat Sandy Creek 4-0.

High School Lacrosse:
Lowville Academy lost to Carthage, the final score 11-3. Devin Roes scored two goals. Devin Babcock also scored a goal.

MLB:
The Mets barely escaped the Marlins 9-8.
The Yankees beat the Rays 3-2.
The Red Sox skimmed the Pirates 4-3.
The Cubs blanked the Dodgers 4-0.
The Orioles topped off the Blue Jays 2-1.

Utica Comets Hockey:
The Comets will host the Wolf Pack tonight in their last home game for the season. The puck drops at 7:00pm.

Martinsburg Meth Arrests

On April 5, 2017, a search warrant was executed by members of the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) at 5037 Keener Hill Road in the Town of Martinsburg.

Three people were arrested after police found that the occupants of the house had just completed cooking methamphetamine. Investigators removed over 20 items for meth manufacturing. Approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine were seized as evidence. The following were arrested:

Anthony A. Pickel, age 35, from 5037 Keener Hill Rd., Apt. 2, Lowville, NY was charged with Manufacturing Meth 3rd degree, a class “D” felony; Unlawful Disposal of Meth Lab Material, a class “E” felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, a class “D” felony and (5) DEC violations for the Unlawful Disposal by burning and dumping near a stream. 
Pickel was arraigned in the Town of Lowville Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail on $5,000 bail.

Dylan J. Babcock, age 21, from 6509 E. Martinsburg Rd., Lowville, NY was charged with Manufacturing Meth 3rd degree, a class “D” felony; Unlawful Disposal of Meth Lab Material, a class “E” felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, a class “D” felony.  He was arraigned in the Town of Lowville Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail on $5,000 bail.

Ashley E. Joslyn, age 30, from 6667 Number 4th Rd., Lowville, NY was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a class “A” misdemeanor for possession of methamphetamine. She also had an outstanding warrant from the Town of Dewitt court for petit larceny.  Joslyn was arraigned in the Town of Lowville Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail on $500 bail.

State Police were assisted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
