Constableville- Barbara A. Slawson, 72, wife of Kenneth A., passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at her residence, while under the loving care of her family.

She was born on October 4, 1941, a daughter of Frances and Ione (Green) Loomis. She grew up in Ava and was educated at West Leyden Central School. On July 3, 1960, Barbara was united in marriage with Kenneth A. Slawson. After that they lived in Ava, and moved to their present home on Kessler Road in 1983. Mrs. Slawson was employed as a certified nurse assistant at Rome Parkway Nursing Home, Rome and at Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville.

In addition to her husband, Ken, she is survived by her children; Kenneth (Rhonda) Slawson, Queensbury, Patti M. (Robert) Johnson, Hawkinsville, Randy Lee (Dawn) Slawson, Lowville, Lorri J. Slawson, Tappahannock, VA, Susan M. Slawson and companion, Dale Marolf, Constableville, and William F. Slawson, Lyons Falls, 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Robin, in 1966, a son, Christopher, in 2001, a granddaughter, Amanda, in 1985, and by a grandson, Randy L. Slawson, Jr. in 2009. Also surviving is one sister, Betty Johnson, VA, two half sisters, Kelly, TN, and Kathy Fazekas, Lowville and a half brother, William Fazekas. She was predeceased by a brother, Steve Loomis.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Interment will follow in Carmichael Hill Cemetery, Westernville. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Constableville Fire Department Ambulance Fund, Constableville, NY 13325.
