Turin- Mary Lou Kozdra, 82, of Lyman Road passed away on April 11, 2017.

She was born in Turin, N.Y. on March 2, 1935, a daughter of Lester Rudd Sr. and Ethel Burdick Rudd. She graduated from General Martin High School in Glenfield and married John Kozdra. John died June 15, 2005. The couple settled in Turin on Lyman Road. For seventeen years Mary Lou was employed at the Utica Psychiatric Center as a mental health aide. She was a member of the D.A.R., the Local Citizens Band Radio Club and the Northern New York Rock & Gem Club.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law; Sandra and Edward Murphy, Boonville, Sharon and Jerry Gandre, Austin, TX and Deborah and Andrew Colton, Ridgefield, CT; two grandchildren, Jenna and Devon Colton and her canine companion, Jessie. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Rudd.

A funeral service will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville. Calling hours will be from 10a.m.-12p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Turin Cemetery. Mary Lou was a dog lover and adopted several German Sheppard dogs. Contributions may be made to Seeing Eye Dogs, NYS Guiding eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road,  Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
