Robert Seelman

June 5, 1930 to June 2, 2017

Highmarket- Robert (Donald) Seelman, 86, a lifelong resident of Sweeney Road, passed away on June 2, 2017 surrounded by his family at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.

He was born in Highmarket on June 5, 1930, a son of Edward and Evelyn Nellenback Seelman. He grew up on the family farm on Sweeney Road and married Katherine McDonald on December 2, 1950 in the Town of Steuben. Shortly after their marriage they settled on the family farm which they operated for many years. Donnie also harvested logs from the farm. He enjoyed hunting years ago and spending time on the farm.

He is survived by his wife Katherine a resident of Sunset Nursing Home; two daughters and a son-in-law, April and Stephen Allen, Rome and Dawn Bush, Port Leyden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Susan Seelman, High Market and Shawn Seelman and Joleen Sullivan, Highmarket; daughter-in-law, Nancy Seelman, Constableville; five grandchildren, Rebecca Marino, Michael, Melanie and Jennifer Bush and Jimmy Seelman and four great grandchildren, Ethan, Mallory, Brady and Brody. He was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene Croniser in 1971 and a son Robert E. Seelman in 2009.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Constableville, Wednesday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Fish Creek. There are no calling hours. A luncheon will be held after the burial at St. Mary’s Church Hall. Donations of food may be dropped off any time after 9 a.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
