A spring youth turkey hunt for Oneida and Madison Counties will be offered this spring for youths 12-15 years old, the DEC says.
Starting off with an educational class day on Saturday, April 17, this event will be free for any participants and gear/equipment will be provided if necessary, according to the DEC.
The educational day will take place at the Cassety Hollow Rod and Gun Club in Oriskany Falls beginning at 9:00 a.m. April 17.
The hunting weekend will follow on April 24 and 25, the DEC said.
Interested youth hunters must possess a New York State small game license and valid turkey tags.
The hunt will feature special COVID-19 precautions to ensure a safe learning environment, including health questionnaires, capacity limits to ensure social distancing, and mask usage.
