Diana- A Lewis County man is facing two misdemeanor charges after police concluded investigations stemming from a May, 2017 incident.

The Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services were sent to 7776 State Route 3 in the Town of Diana after a child abuse hotline call was received. The tip indicated an adult male and a juvenile male were involved together growing marijuana in the basement of the address.

The owner of the residence gave consent to search the home and police discovered one small marijuana plant in the basement. Shawn C Richards, 41, was issued appearance tickets for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawfully Growing of Cannabis, both Class A Misdemeanors.

The sixteen-year-old teenage male was also issued an appearance ticket for Unlawfully Growing of Cannabis. No further details were released.
