TOWN OF FORESTPORT-August 26, 2018: A 20 year old Town of Remsen man was jailed Friday night following a traffic stop on Route 28 in the Town of Forestport.

New York State Police from the Remsen barracks charged Richard J. Barrett with Driving While Intoxicated-First offense-an unclassified misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a person under 21, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, both violations. He was also charged with Refusal to Take a Breath Test, and Drinking Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle on a Highway, both traffic infractions. The incident remains under investigation and no further details were available.
