Lowville- Police arrested and charged a 36-year-old Croghan man on an active bench warrant and several other charges yesterday after a traffic stop on Trinity Avenue.

Lowville Village Patrols say Gary D. Genito Jr. was allegedly observed operating with a loud muffler. Investigations resulted in various charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Police discovered Genito has an active bench warrant from the Town of Cicero. He was also charged with four separate Vehicle and Traffic Tickets. Genito was arraigned in the Village of Lowville Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail on $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond.

Lowville Village Police were assisted by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police and Turck’s Garage.
