Carthage Nursing

Carthage- Carthage Area Hospital has closed its Skilled Nursing Unit almost three weeks ahead of schedule.

Officials say the last 23 residents have been transferred to another local skilled nursing facility. “We sincerely appreciate the understanding of our residents and their family members,” Carthage Area Hospital Chief Executive Officer Rich Duvall said. “We would not have succeeded without their trust and patience during a time of uncertainty and change.”

All twenty-four Skilled Nursing Unit employees were offered options for retention and reassignment within Carthage Area Hospital and have filled those positions. Only one employee chose not to pursue other work opportunity with the organization.
