Christmas vigil

Lowville- Next Thursday will be the annual “Light up a Life” event, hosted by Lewis County Hospice.

The purpose of the gathering is to provide residents an opportunity to remember their lost loved ones, or those who are battling an illness during the holiday season.

“Grief at the holidays is particularly challenging”, said Crystal Collette, Bereavement Coordinator. “At hospice we’ve provided the opportunity for folks to gather as a community to remember those they’ve lost and to recognize the grief they’re experiencing”. All throughout the month of December, residents will be able to leave a message honoring their loved ones on the memory board at the Village Band Stand.

The annual “Light up a Life” gathering will be held Thursday, December 14, at 5:30pm; where the community is invited to witness the tree lighting ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park, behind the Post Office. Stay tuned for more details to be aired soon.
