Oneida County- The historic Trenton Falls will open its trail system this weekend.

If you’re a nature lover and enjoy walking on our local paths, this opportunity will only be available briefly, as the weekend of September 15-16 will be only other time the trails are open this year.

From 9:00am-5:00pm May 19 & 20, the town of Trenton invites you to enjoy the beauty of the falls and learn the significance of the site, based on the outcome of the Civil War. Officials say this chance to examine the falls is thanks to the partnership with Brookfield Renewable Power.

Those who walk the trails this weekend will have the chance to examine historic photographs, listen to summaries, and there will be resources available to answer historic questions and to discuss renewable energy.

Take Route 28 East in Mapledale and make the first left on the Trenton Falls Road (on the curve); continue through the Dover Road intersection and continue to the end of the road, where you will park.
