Snowmobile Crash 2

Town of Inlet- Emergency services were called out Wednesday afternoon to the scene a serious injury snowmobile accident in the town of Inlet.

At around 4:00pm, Inlet Fire and EMS received reports from dispatch of a snowmobile that crashed into a tree in the Moose River Plains area. Investigation revealed a 68-year-old Mark J. Javarone, of Mayfield, NY reportedly went off the left side of the trail and struck a tree, Town of Inlet Police said.

EMS officials revealed Javarone suffered a compound leg fracture and multiple internal injuries. Inlet Ambulance crews took Javarone to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, where he was then transferred to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Hospital officials last listed him in critical condition.

Inlet Police officials said icy trail conditions and high speeds were factors in the accident. The Town of Inlet Police also encourages all snowmobile riders to utilize extreme caution if you choose to ride; as current trail conditions in that area are icy, with little to no snow base for steering.
