Boonville Man Sexually Abuse Child

Oneida County- A Boonville man was jailed after being accused of sexually abusing a young girl earlier this month, according to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

Oneida County Sheriff's Investigator Mark R. Chrysler and Rome Police Detective E. A. D'Alessandro, who are both assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, arrested Ryan Lee Watson, 19, outside his village home on Wednesday afternoon. It’s alleged that Watson sexually abused a six-year-old girl on at least two occasions at his Boonville home during this month.

Watson was charged with one count of Sexual Abuse in the 1st-degree, a Class “D” Felony. He was held at the Oneida County Jail, where he awaited his arraignment. Authorities recommended his bail at $15,000, officials from the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office said.

Investigators say additional charges are possible, as the case remains under investigation. Counseling services from the Child Advocacy Center were offered to the victim.
