The topic of public restrooms in the town of Webb was once again brought up at the latest public forum discussion of the monthly board meeting, according to officials.
For the past ten years, the Town of Webb has been striving towards the establishment of public restrooms. Officials report the town currently rents public restrooms at the cost of over $5,000 per-year. For now, board members have yet to fully agree on a site where they feel is optimal. Several cost estimates have been hashed out and sketches have been viewed, but officials say there was little optimism for that project to be ready by year’s end.
In other news during the latest meeting, board members chose to establish a sergeant’s position within the Town of Webb Police. At the request of Chief Johnston, he believes the position will benefit the police force by providing a promotion track for officers to follow. In addition, Chief Johnston says a sergeant’s position will provide more authority to experienced officers.
