Rome, NY- Investigators say an Oneida County youth was charged with misdemeanor offenses after allegedly touching the intimate parts of a teenage girl.

Officials who represent the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and Child Advocacy Center say the incident occurred on a City of Rome school bus in February. A 13-year-old female reportedly claimed she was intimately touched by a 14-year-old male, according to authorities.

Over the past several weeks, investigators managed to obtain enough evidence to charge the teenager with Sexual Abuse in the 2nd-degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The male’s name was not provided by police, due to his youthful offender status.

The youth will appear in Rome Juvenile Probation at a later date. Officials say an order of protection was requested and services from the Child Advocacy Center were offered to the teenage girl.
