Herkimer County- An Old Forge, NY man is accused of several charges related to a domestic dispute that police say lasted for several days.
On June 23, the Town of Webb Police was called out to an address at 3093 State Route 28 at around 7:45 p.m. that evening for reports of a domestic dispute, according to authorities. Police arrived on location and that’s when they learned from the victim that the alleged dispute had been going on since the previous Tuesday, June 18.
During that time frame, the victim told police she had been strangled unconscious, menaced with a knife and struck in the face. When the victim tried to call for help, she told police her phone was smashed by the perpetrator. Old Forge Ambulance took the victim to a Utica Hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries.
Following police investigations, Jeffrey H. Rockhill, 60, of the 3093 State Route 28 address was arrested Monday morning, June 24. Rockhill was charged with felony strangulation in the 2nd-degree, misdemeanor counts of menacing in the 2nd-degree and criminal mischief in the 4th-degree, along with a violation of harassment in the 2nd-degree.
Following arraignment in the Town of Webb Court, Rockhill was jailed on $10,000 bail.
