Turin- A Glenfield, NY man is facing a list of DWI and other related charges after fleeing from a police cruiser during the overnight hours.

At around 1:10 a.m. Saturday, a Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a black colored vehicle that was speeding on State Route 26 in the town of Turin. Police said the driver of the vehicle failed to comply and proceeded to travel down the roadway while turning the headlights off.

The vehicle was located a short time later by the New York State Police on the Burdick’s Crossing Road, deputies said, and that’s when the driver was identified as Tyler Spann, 20.

Following evaluation on the scene, Spann was arrested for DWI and taken to the Lewis County Public Safety Building, where police say he registered a .12% BAC.

Spann was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failing to comply, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle without headlights, failing to keep right and underage possession of alcohol. All charges are returnable to the Town of Turin Court at a later date.
