Fauvelle COY

Boonville, NY- After completing his second season as skipper of the Adirondack Trailblazers and taking them on their first ever playoff run this season, the Perfect Game Colligate Baseball League (PGCBL) has chosen Mickey Fauvelle as 2019 Coach of the Year.

Selected by a vote of his peers, this is the highest coaching honor that is given annually by the PGCBL. According to league officials, Coach Fauvelle combined his first two seasons for 38 victories, a significant increase from only 29, which was the combined total for 2016 and 2017.

For this season, 19 wins was enough this season to give the Blazers their first ever post season appearance. In their debut wildcard game, the Blazers managed to pull off one of the biggest PGCBL upsets in history by mowing over the Utica Blue Sox 10-4. To put things into perspective, the powerful Blue Sox had an impressive 30 wins on the 2019 season.

With only fifteen players left on the roster, the Blazers charged onward into the Western Division Championship Series against Geneva, pulling off a two game sweep that sent them to the PGCBL finals. The team gave it their best against a very difficult Amsterdam Mohawks team and despite a last effort, the Blazers fell short in the series.

Once again, the Blazers would like to thank all the fans who came out to the ball park this year and they hope to see you all again next year.
