Town of Floyd- An Ava, NY woman, who was taken to an area hospital late Friday night after emergency authorities were called out to a personal injury crash, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputies say the incident occurred at just after 10:30 p.m. on State Route 49 in the Town of Floyd.

Investigation determined that Abigail J. Loomis, 36, was driving her 2004 Jeep Wrangler west and reportedly failed to maintain her lane. Police said she veered off the north shoulder, which caused her Jeep to flip and then roll several times, coming to a stop after making contact with a line of trees.

According to deputies, Loomis was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Medical officials said she suffered injuries to her back. AmCare Ambulance crews took her to Rome Memorial Hospital, where she further evaluated.

Loomis was issued several citations and is due to appear in the Town of Floyd Court at a later date. Deputies received assistance from the New York State Police and the Floyd Fire Department.
