Town of Floyd- Two area residents were sent to the hospital Friday morning, following reports of a two vehicle collision.

Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputies say the accident occurred at around 11:20 a.m.

According to authorities, Mark B. Williams, 59, of Remsen, NY was driving his Ford pick-up south on the Soule Road and reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign for the intersection of East Floyd Road. This caused a collision with a GMC Sierra, reportedly driven by William Larkin, 44, of Rome, NY.

Emergency responders said that Larkin complained of head pain. Members of Floyd Fire Department treated him on scene before he was taken to Rome Hospital for further evaluation in a private vehicle.

Williams complained of rib pain and received treatment on scene before he was sent to St. Luke’s Hospital by AmCare Ambulance. Mr. Williams was issued a traffic ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign.
