nys policeIn preparation for the forthcoming winter, State Police are strongly encouraging motorists to exercise great care when travelling and to make sure they are prepared.

In this press release, they remind drivers to be mindful of the road conditions, snowfall, wind, and visibility if they need to travel. Leave early if you must so you can make a slow and careful drive to your destination. They also encourage drivers to make sure their headlights are on at all times to increase visibility for yourself as well as other motorists. Do NOT use cruise control in bad conditions as this will decrease reaction times if you need to apply breaks. State Police also advise that drivers make sure that they have supplies in their vehicle in case of being stranded by bad weather on an area without assistance readily available.
