Toys For Children 1

Lowville, NY- The magic of Christmas is gearing up all throughout the North Country and a local auto dealership is making an effort to brighten a child's spirit this holiday season.

Essenlohr motors, along with the Cub Scout Pack 1605, Lewis County Marine Corp League Detachment #754 and the Lewis County Christmas Sharing Program, is once again sponsoring the annual Toys for Children Campaign, now for its 20th year.

The idea is for local residents to drop off new toys at the Utica Boulevard dealership, where they will be given to kids all throughout the county. Monetary donations are also accepted.

"They can do cash, they can do checks. If you write a check, it has to be made out to Christmas Sharing," said Mark Essenlohr. "Any kind of (new, unwrapped) toys may be dropped off. The only thing we prefer to stay away from is any kind of assault stuff (toys), like guns, knives, any kind of weapon."

As usual, the big red truck (shown above) is parked right in the showroom and will be there through December 20 for residents to fill with toys. Once all the toys are collected and wrapped, they will be distributed to families in need all throughout the county, ensuring that kids can have a truly magical Christmas.
