Daskiewich Michael

LOWVILLE- A North Country man is going to prison for sexually abusing a child last year.

Michael S. Daskiewich, 58, of Port Leyden, NY was sentenced Friday in Lewis County Court to 40-years behind bars, according to the latest reports from WWNY-TV.

A jury found Mr. Daskiewich guilty of a combined eight counts of felony and misdemeanor offenses in September, including sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child.

In October of 2018, Daskiewich was accused of bringing two minors to his house, providing them with alcohol and then engaging in sexual contact with one of them. Investigators took him into custody after he reportedly agreed to meet up with a minor and possibly have further sexual contact following the initial incident in the Town of Leyden.
