TOWN OF MARTINSBURG-January 14, 2020. A single family trailer home on B. Arthur Road in the Town of Martinsburg was destroyed in in a fire this morning. 

The Lewis County Fire Coordinator’s office reported that the home was fully engulfed when Marinsburg Volunteer Fire Fighters arrived on the scene. Mutual aid was requested prior to the arrival Lowville Volunteer firefighters. The home was a rental property with two occupants. There was insurance on the property and the family is being assisted by the Red Cross. Two family pets were lost in the blaze. The trailer and contents within were totally destroyed and fire is under investigation. Firefighters were assisted by Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Lowville Village Police and Lewis County Search and rescue.
