For Lewis and Jefferson Counties

WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8

inches in the most persistent snows across higher terrain.

* WHERE...Jefferson and Lewis counties. Greatest accumulations
will be across the higher terrain of the Tug Hill Plateau and
western foothills of the Adirondacks.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions
and reduced visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact
the morning and evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited
visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving.

 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM THURSDAY TO 1 AM

EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida, Southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Madison
  and Cortland counties.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Thursday to 1 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow expected. Total
  snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches with the higher amounts
  north of Route 28. Winds gusting as high as 35 to 40 mph. For
  the Wind Chill Advisory, dangerous winds chills expected with
  values as low as 20 to 25 below zero.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer and Hamilton Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 10 PM this
  evening to 7 PM EST Thursday. For the Wind Chill Advisory,
  from 3 AM to 10 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions along with areas of
  blowing snow which could significantly reduce visibility. The
  cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as
  little as 30 minutes.
