Town of Steuben- Authorities have identified the man who was injured in a logging accident late Monday afternoon in the Town of Steuben.

Leroy Kirkland, 72, of Steuben was listed in critical condition as of press time Tuesday, according to a release from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency services were called out at around 5:00 p.m. Monday to reports of a man involved in a logging accident off the Evans Road.

Police said Mr. Kirkland was hit in the head with a tree that he had cut down.
