Brown Trout 2

With opening day of trout season in New York just around the corner, the New York State DEC is reminding all anglers that despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, there have been no changes made for sporting licenses.

In other words, you still need a valid one to fish legally and there have been no extension of expiration dates for licenses.

Although most agents and offices that normally renew your license are closed for now, customers can still make transactions online or through the DEC’s call center.

The call center is available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling 1-866-933-2257.

Customers who purchase a license online will have the option of having it mailed or print at home.

Whether calling in or ordering online, customers will also have the option of writing down their transaction number.
