Floyd Fire July 2020

ONEIDA COUNTY- A fire that broke out early Monday in Floyd has destroyed a home and displaced three of its family members.

Alarms sounded shortly before 2:00 a.m. Members from Floyd, Barneveld, Holland Patent and Westernville Fire Departments all responded to a home on the Edwards Road and worked together in fighting the flames.

The home is a total loss, however; there were no injuries reported.

Emergency officials said the fire ignited in a bedroom and spread its way to the rest of the home.

The three adults of the household are now reportedly staying with area family, officials said.
