The New York State Police are asking for the public's assistance on an investigation into a barn in the Town of Ava that was struck and damaged by a car Friday night with the driver leaving the scene.  Troopers out of Sylvan Beach are looking for the driver of a dark-colored, possibly black Ford Taurus, Pontiac Grand Am or a
Mercury Sable that struck and damaged the barn on East Ava Road, also leaving behind one of the vehicle's mirrors and a sensor. The vehicle is believed to be an early to mid-2000s make.  Anyone with information about the accident or car involved should contact State Police at Sylvan Beach at 762-4496.
