What was originally thought to be a shooting incident on an Adirondack Scenic Railroad train last weekend turned out not to be case after all. DEC officials reported yesterday that the railroad stated that passengers on board the train were on their way back to Utica from a foliage viewing tour & were passing through Forestport when one of the windows had shattered. No injuries were reported. State Police had originally stated that they were looking into whether the window was shattered by a stray bullet from a hunter or something else. The DEC was called in to assist State Police and determined that it was actually a bird that had struck the window and shattered it, not a bullet.
