A 55 year old Croghan man is facing charges following a 2-vehicle head-on collision that occurred at around
7:02 p.m. Thursday night on Adams Hill Road in the Town of New Bremen.  Lewis County Sheriff's Deputies report that a car driven by 46 year old Michelle Burns of Lowville had pulled to the opposite shoulder of the road across from her residence so she could retrieve the mail from her mailbox when a northbound SUV driven by Leland Turck crested a hill & was unable to keep from striking the Burns vehicle.  Neither driver was injured in the collision.  Turck was charged with DWI & was taken to the Public Safety Building, where he allegedly registered a 0.15% blood/alcohol content.  He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of New Bremen Court at a later date.  Deputies report that the accident investigation is still continuing.
