LEWIS COUNTY- Officials in the town of Denmark say their contract with the Copenhagen Fire Department has been approved for extension through year’s end.
According to the latest updates from WWNY-TV, this development was cemented by town board members Monday night during an executive session.
Prior to the vote, a public hearing for town people was held regarding the contract.
It’s reported that four fire department members provided details of how the department has been making strides to improve their bookkeeping, while also making efforts to restore a stronger relation with the village.
These adjustments to the fire department are in the wake of a state audit, which found issues with bookkeeping.
In addition, the audit also revealed a few glitches with training.
