TURIN- A man from southern Lewis County is accused of various offenses following complaints of an altercation, police say.
It happened Friday evening on Gomer Hill Road in Turin, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
It was shortly before 7;30 p.m. that evening when deputies arrested and charged Scott M. Galarneau, 43, of Turin, NY with misdemeanor counts of assault in the third-degree and criminal mischief in the fourth-degree.
It’s alleged that Galarneau was involved in a scuffle with another male subject. The victim reportedly suffered physical injuries and also sustained ripped clothing during the altercation, deputies said.
Galarneau was arraigned and released to re-appear in the Town of Turin Court at a later date. Authorities said an order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf.
Members from Turin Ambulance assisted on scene. No additional details regarding the incident were included from police.
