
ROME- A woman from Boonville, NY is accused of possessing a quantity of pills during a traffic stop, authorities say.
Kendal L. Rhone, 22, is officially charged with criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree, according to Rome City Police Department.
It was shortly after 1:00 a.m. Sunday, June 12 when patrols noticed a vehicle – where the driver was maneuvering suspiciously near Black River Boulevard and East Dominick Street.
Police also mentioned the vehicle’s registration was suspended. A traffic stop was initiated, where Rhone was a passenger in the vehicle.
Investigation revealed the driver and Rhone were unlicensed, prompting a search of the vehicle.
Police said a pill bottle was located, which had its label removed. Inside were three-and-a-half pills of generic Xanax, police said.
The name of the driver was not provided from city police. Rhone was released on an appearance ticket.
