Students embracing new technology

Students at Copenhagen Central School are embracing the new iPad program, called KnightPad.  The Johnson Newspapers are reporting that students typically use their iPads 4-7 periods out of the 10 periods of a school day.  All 6th-8th grade students received an iPad in October. The computer tablets are regulated by the school district with only educational applications uploaded, and all Internet traffic is filtered.  A survey found that 41 percent of students used the iPad for less than an hour at home, while 34 percent used theirs for less than two hours.  Some students are even searching out more ways to enhance their learning.  There have been a few complaints about the new system. But overall, school officials report that the program seems to be off to an excellent start.
