In the wake of a community uproar in West Carthage over recent incidents involving sex offenders near a playground, local officials have confirmed that an alternate location to house such offenders has been found.
This update is according to the latest from WWNY-TV.
Just recently, the owner of Pleasant Night Inn reportedly published a letter that clarified that the establishment would no longer be accepting registered sex offenders.
In the past, there have been some sex offenders that have been housed there by the DSS.
It’s reported that county legislator John Peck has confirmed the county is in the process of sending a request to include more definitions that would further restrict sex offenders from certain areas.
Furthermore, Peck went on to emphasize the in-going difficulty for authorities to find housing for the homeless and registered sex-offenders.
