INLET- Authorities have announced the arrest and charges filed against the man wanted for struggling with and fleeing from a New York Forest Ranger.

As we reported, this incident occurred on Saturday in the town of Inlet. Police Chief Ron Johnston told us that State Forest Rangers were set up with a radar and trail check near the Bug Lake trailhead.

A snowmobiler traveling northbound on the nearby Uncas Road saw the trail check and immediately turned around to evade police.

A Forest Ranger took pursuit and soon caught up with the suspect.

The chase continued into the Hamlet of Eagle Bay, but was soon called-off after authorities deemed it unsafe.

After investigating the matter, authorities have identified the suspect as Jordan M. Schurko, 21, of Gardiner, NY.
