Lauretta Widrick

LOWVILLE- Lauretta Widrick, 86, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, August 22, 2017, at Lewis County General Hospital.

Mrs. Widrick was born May 17, 1931, in Croghan, the eighth daughter of the late Jacob and Lena (Martin) Widrick and attended Belfort Rural School and Beaver River High School. She married Aaron A. Widrick on May 2, 1951, at the Croghan Conservative Mennonite Church with Rev. Lloyd Boshart officiating. Aaron and Lauretta owned and operated a dairy farm near Martinsburg.

Lauretta was a member of the Naumburg Mennonite Church. She faithfully served the Riverview Ladies Sewing Circle and was also a volunteer at the Agape Shoppe in Watertown. She also enjoyed working on the farm with her husband.

Surviving are her husband, Aaron “Bud”; two sons, Aaron Lavern (Debbie) and Merle Jacob all of Lowville and daughter Karen Moshier (James) of Croghan; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; her sister, Gladys Moshier of Brookside, and her brother, Earl Widrick of Adams Center; a brother-in-law, Loren and wife Marilyn Widrick of Adams; several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son, Lynn Gary; seven sisters; five brothers; her father and mother-in-law, Aaron E. and Sarah Widrick.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 23rd from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at Naumburg Mennonite Church.

Burial will be in Croghan Mennonite Cemetery, on Thursday, August 24th.

A memorial service will be on Thursday, August 24th at 10:30 A.M. at the Naumburg Mennonite Church with Pastors Titus Mast, Myron Roggie and Greg Widrick, officiating.
