William Pfendler

November 22, 1958 to December 28, 2017

Westernville- William (Bill) Pfendler,a long time resident of Coleman Road, passed away on December 28, 2017, after a three month illness.

A son of Glenn and Marjorie Judd Pfendler, he was raised and educated in Boonville, NY. He married Bernice Coleman on November 22, 1956, a blessed union of 61 years. Bill was a carpenter employed by several contractors and finished his career as a carpenter in the Carpenter Shop at the former Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. He retired in April 1993. He was a member of the North Western Methodist Church, serving in many different roles and capacities where ever needed.

He is survived by his wife Bernice, daughter Vanessa (Jeff) Penatzer of Tuscon, Arizona, a son Brian of Rome, NY, five grandchildren, Mara, Jeffrey, Heather Penatzer, Dillon and Brianna Pfendler, two sisters Diana (Jim) Jackson and Marion Brown of Boonville, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Leo and sisters, Doris Howard and Betty Pfendler. He is also survived by his lifelong neighbor and best friend Sherwood Waterman.

Calling hours and funeral arrangements are being handled by Mills Funeral Home of Boonville, NY, and will take place on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018, at the North Western Methodist Church located on Route 46 in North Western. Calling hours will be from 2 - 4 p.m., with the funeral service commencing at 4 p.m. with Reverend Joan Dunn officiating. Spring burial will be in Westernville Cemetery.
