Marie S. Lachausse

July 15, 1938 to March 6, 2018

Lowville- Marie S. Lachausse, 79, of Valley View Apartments and formerly of Cherry Street, Lyons Falls, passed away on March 6, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Hartford.

She was born on July 15, 1938 in Carthage, NY, a daughter of Claude J. and Katherine Zehr Stiles. She grew up in the Beaver Falls area and was employed with J.P. Lewis Company, Beaver Falls and the Lewis County ARC. Marie was united in marriage to James LaChausse on August 29, 1981 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Croghan. Jim died June 13, 2004. Marie enjoyed genealogy and crocheting.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, Rayta and Jim Russell and Nancy Brown, all of Lowville, Kay Manzer, Wayne and Ellen Hoppel and Vanessa and Michael Monnat, all of Castorland and Kent and Rhonda Hoppel, West Valley, NY and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Arletha Hoppel.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St., Boonville. Calling hours will be 3-4 p.m. prior to the service. A spring burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville. Donations can be made to the Diabetes Association.
