Boonville-Shirley Kiser Hutchins, 80, of State Rte. 294, Boonville, widow of Stanley F. Sr., passed peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on March 22, 2018. 

Born April 10, 1937 in the Town of Western to Walter and Zilphia Armstrong Kiser she grew up in Western and moved to Port Leyden in 1951. On June 26, 1954 she was united in marriage with Stanley F. Hutchins Sr. in Port Leyden, a union that persevered for 60 years and was blessed with 12 children. Shirley’s first employment was with a tree nursery in Lowville, later going to work for Sargent’s Chair Factory in Boonville for 20 years, and her final employment at Sunset Nursing Home from 1989 until her retirement in 1999. Shirley greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her dog Bean and parrot Pretty Bird. Her easy smile, boisterous laugh and twinkling eyes will be fondly remembered by all.

Shirley is survived by her children, Stanley Jr. and Julie of Constableville, Ann & Harold Glouse Jr. of Boonville, Donald “Tim” of Clinton, Sandra & Alfred Bender of Watson, Steve of Boonville, Douglas and Lorrie of Constableville, Laura McCaw of Boonville, Amy and Richard DeVal of Tennessee and David and Mary of Lowville; 24 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; her brother Ronald Kiser of Camden and sister Sharon Schuyler of Durhamville. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley, son Barry, daughter Karen, infant daughter Brenda, brothers Donald, Robert and Dennis and sisters Ruth Conover, Margaret Hina and Valerie “Joan” Wilcox.

Her children would like to express their gratitude to their sister Ann for her lifelong dedication to taking care of both of their parents. It has not gone unnoticed.

A memorial service will be held later in the spring. The arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mills Funeral Home, Boonville .
