BEAVER FALLS- Sharlene M. Laubscher, 83, of Main Street, died on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.



In keeping with Sharlene’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Sharlene has generously donated her body as an Anatomical Gift to SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Amboy Bell-Isle United Church, 6190 Airport Rd, Syracuse, NY 13209. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home Inc., Lowville.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Diana Laubscher of Dekalb; special nieces and nephews, Jeff (Angela) Keller of Camillus, Terri Vought of Michigan, Lynn Coffey-Edelman and her husband, Kurt Edelman of Huntington Station,; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Laubscher, Kari (Brian) Francisco, Jeremy (Karen) Barrington, Lindsay (Roger) Burriss, Brook Barrington, Miki (Joe) Marshall, and Jerred (Lauren) Laubscher, several great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a daughter, Lauri Beth Sauro; two brothers, Lee W. and Jon Keller; and a great-great granddaughter, Harley Rose Farney.

Sharlene was born December 11, 1934, a daughter of the late Gerald and Alice Wilkins Keller. She graduated from Solvay High School in 1950. She married Edward E. Laubscher on August 8, 1953 at Amboy Presbyterian Church with Rev. Evan E. Evans, officiating. She worked for New York Telephone Company, raised her family, and worked for E-F Hutton. She then returned to New York Telephone Company, later called AT&T, working as repair service and order writer. In 1989, together with her husband, she moved to Long Pond.

She is a member of Beaver River Memorial Post #16630 American Legion Auxiliary. She loved knitting and reading. She also loved to bake, being known for her brownies. Mrs. Laubscher enjoyed water skiing, vacationing in Florida, and spending time at “Camp Corner” with her Croghan American Legion Family.

A special thank you to the 3rd floor staff at Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility for their loving care and kindness shown to Sharlene during her stay at the nursing home.
