Katherine McDonald Seelman

Constableville-Katherine McDonald Seelman, 84, passed away on June 25, 2018 at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility, Lowville surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness.
 
She was born September 22, 1933 in Remsen, NY a daughter of Clarence and Margaret O’Donnell McDonald. She grew up and attended school in Remsen. She married R. Don Seelman on December 2, 1950 in Steuben. The couple settled on the family farm in Highmarket which they operated for many years. She greatly enjoyed working the farm and her flower gardens and most of all being a good mom.
 
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, April and Stephen Allen, Rome and Dawn Bush, Port Leyden; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Doug and Susan Seelman, Highmarket and Shawn Seelman and Joleen Sullivan, Highmarket; daughter-in-law, Nancy Seelman, Constableville; five grandchildren, Rebecca Marino, Michael, Melanie and Jennifer Bush and Jimmy Seelman; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Mallory, Brady, Brody and Gavin. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Donald Seelman, June 2, 2017, a daughter, Darlene Croniser in 1971 and a son, Robert E. Seelman in 2009, brothers and sisters, Ambrose, Joseph, Eugene and Raymond McDonald and Anna Hurlbut and Mary Rowlands.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Constableville with Rev. Lawrence Marullo officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Fish Creek. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Peter and Paul Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Association.
