MARK "GIZ" ROSINSKI

Boonville- Mark Rosinski, 56, better known as “Giz”, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. 

He was born on December 15, 1961 in Concord, Ma., a son of Alfred and Sophia Kowalik Rosinski. He grew up in Bedford, Ma. where he attended high school. He then went to Shawsheen Technical School, learning the trade of building construction. Giz moved to Boonville in 1982 and was employed with his uncle, Zig Kowalik in the building business. For a time he was employed with Sargent’s Chair Factory in Boonville and he then established his own building and construction company, Giz Construction. He was a highly skilled carpenter and has built over 25 homes in Boonville and the surrounding area. Most recently completing the gazebo at Erwin Library, Boonville.

He was a member of Boonville Elks Lodge and Knights of Columbus, Boonville. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.

Surviving are his wife, Debora Roberts Rosinski whom he married on January 20, 1990 in Boonville; his parents, Alfred and Sophia Rosinski, Boonville; step son, Shawn and Danielle Fay, Boonville; two step grandchildren, Matthew and Makenzie Fay; one sister Cynthia and Dave Irwin, Littleton, Ma; two brothers, Gregory Rosinski, Sterling, Ma and Stephen and Heidi Rosinski, Westport, NY; his special canine companions, Lily and Sadie; five nieces and nephews and many other relatives on Debbies side of the family as well as friends. He was predeceased by a stepson, Chad Fay in 1989.

A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville with Reverend Thomas Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chad Fay Memorial Scholarship Fund at Adirondack Central School, 110 Ford Street, Boonville, NY 13309.For an online message of sympathy please go to www.millsfuneralhomes.com.
