Rosemary Dolan

Boonville- Rosemary Dolan, 86, widow of Jim, passed away peacefully, at her residence, on Sunday, February 3, 2019, while under the loving care of her family and hospice.

Rosemary was born on September 24, 1932, on Duppert Road, Mohawk Hill, at the Seelman homestead farm, a daughter of Andrew and Effie Goodhines Seelman. She attended a one room school house on Mohawk Hill, until moving to Boonville with her family, where she graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1950. On November 19, 1954, Rosemary was united in marriage with the love of her life, Francis James “Jim” Dolan, at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. This was a loving union which lasted for over 60 years, until Jim passed away on February 14, 2015. In the late 1950’s the couple moved to their present home on Summit Street.

In October 1963, Jim and Rosemary and Rosemary’s brother in law, Donald Seelman, purchased the American Hotel on Ann Street in Boonville. Together, they operated this hotel, bar and grill until 1982, when Mr. Seelman passed away. Thereafter Jim and Rosemary continued to operate the hotel; in the summer of 2018, Rosemary sold the hotel.

Mrs. Dolan was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and taking bus trips to the casino.

Surviving are her children; two daughters, Kathryn (Kris) Egnaczyk, Cheryl (Cameron) Kaiding, all of Boonville; three grandchildren, Leslie (Ryan), Thomas (Sydney), Katelyn (Jamie); great grandchildren, Abigail Marie, Madeline Rose, Machenna Sky and her beloved nieces and nephews and her beloved canine companions. She was predeceased by her siblings, Andy Seelman, Loretta Bourgeois and Helen Seelman.

Her Funeral will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville, where Rev. Thomas A. Ward and Rev. Donald H. Karlen, a brother in law of Rosemary will concelebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. A spring interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville.
