Margaret Casey Wetzel

Boonville – Margaret Casey Wetzel, 69, of Potato Hill Road passed away July 8, 2019 at home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Boonville, NY on December 1, 1949 a daughter of John H. and Frances Strobel Casey. Margaret grew up on the Osceola Road, West Leyden and graduated from West Leyden High School in 1968. She moved to Syracuse where she was employed as a secretary for various companies. She married Larry Wetzel on May 22, 1971 at the Rome Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Dayton, Ohio where they raised their family, a son Troy and a daughter Tonya. Margaret was employed as a billing clerk at a local hospital while living in Dayton. Her husband, Larry who was on active duty in the Air Force passed away in 1981. In 2015 Margaret moved to Boonville where she made her home with her sister, Joan Smith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.

Surviving are her children, Troy and Jacque Wetzel and Tonya Wetzel, all of Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; five sisters, Janet Lehman, Brewerton, Jane (Gordon) Abel, Kirkville, Joan Smith, Boonville, Mary (Ed) Fynmore, Boonville and Ruth C. Loomis, Turin; two brothers, Karl (Carol) Casey, Haines City, Fla. and Georg Casey, Elizabethton, Tenn. She was predeceased by a brother Jack Casey in 1978.
