Robert “Bob” G. Lanz

Boonville – Robert “Bob” G. Lanz, 82, a long time resident of Moose River Road Passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 after a recent battle with cancer.

Bob was born in Lowville, NY, on April 12, 1937 a son of Norman and Bernice Jacques Lanz. He grew up in Lowville and graduated from Lowville High School. Bob served in the Air Force where he met his wife Mary Moore whom he married on June 13, 1959 at the Lowville Presbyterian Church. The couple moved to Massachusetts where Bob serve four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed as a laboratory technician at Latex Fiber Industries Inc. in Beaver Falls for four years. The couple moved to Boonville and built a house on Moose River Road. Bob began working for his uncle Ronald Sargent and eventually became owner and CEO of N.M. Sargents & Sons until he retired several years ago.

Bob and Mary had a camp in Brantingham where he was president of the Brantingham Lake Community Association from 1965-66 and during his tenure the water regulating district was established. Bob enjoyed the lake from a very young age with his family and continued to enjoy the lake with his current family and lifelong friends until his passing.

Surviving are his wife Mary; two daughters, Lori Lanz, Ava and Amy and Jim McCormick, Boonville; three grandchildren, Lexus Lanz Wilcox, Ryan and Holly McCormick and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard”Dick” Lanz, Rochester, NY.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at the Brantingham Cemetery, with Deacon Ronald Pominville officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his honor to the Boonville Ambulance or the Boonville Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Mills Funeral Home, Boonville N.Y.
