Albert William Winters

Boonville- Albert William Winters, 99 passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on January 17, 1920 in Forestport a son of the late William and Bertha Buck Winters. Albert was raised in Forestport and graduated from Forestport High School in 1939. He married Gladys Baker on December 24, 1942 at the Episcopal Mance in Boonville, N.Y. They lived in Forestport, then Buck Hill Road in Westernville and then owned and operated a farm on route 12 with his wife from 1958 to71, which is the current location of Nirvana Water. Albert was also employed at Bendix Corp., Utica for 29 years before retiring in 1982. The couple moved to North Lake Road in Forestport from 1971 to 2008. Then they moved to Kortenaer Village, Boonville from 2008 to 2016, when he entered the nursing home. He was a member of Forestport Presbyterian Church, Trenton Odd Fellows Lodge, United Steel Workers local 4831, National Council of Senior Citizens, and AARP.

Surviving are his wife Gladys of nearly 77 years, one son, Joseph and wife Nancy of Mesquite, NV; a daughter, Sandra of Wampsville, NY; four granddaughters, Karen Altrock, Denver, CO., Tracy Altrock, Los Alamos, NM, Jessi Altrock, Boston, MA and Stacie Winters, Rochester, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son William who was killed in Qui Nhon, South Vietnam in 1969, two brothers, Earl and Howard and one sister Ida Hebert.
