Betty Rose Myers

Boonville-Betty Rose Myers, 89, of the East Road passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center on September 23, 2019 surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 8, 1930 in Lyons Falls, a daughter of Arthur and Vera Dean Newvine. Betty attended Port Leyden High School until 1946. She and Stanley H. Myers were united in marriage on October 27, 1951 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Port Leyden. For a short time she was employed at Snow Ridge in Turin, before becoming a full time homemaker to her family.

Betty loved spending time with her family, reading, word search puzzles and going to garage sales.

Surviving are her sons, Frederick, Bruce, Roger and Donna, Randy, Mickey and Kelly, all of Boonville; one daughter, MaryAnn and Mike Karpinski, Boonville; brothers, Edward (Stub) Newvine , Kenneth (Jim) Newvine, all of Port Leyden; grandchildren, Mona and Jamie Dosztan, Jake Myers, Jessica Myers, Devin Goodhines, Randy Jr. , Brandon and Kyle Myers, Lacey and Dan Egnew, Dalton Schultz, Kenzie and Kaden Karpinski, Marcos, Zachary and Billy Myers; great grandchildren, Cory, Cailey and Carson Dosztan, Rylan , Branton and Kendra Myers and Dale Egnew.

She was predeceased by her husband Stanley, in 2016, her parents, a brother William (Billy) Newvine in 1968.

In keeping with her wishes there are no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewis County Search and Rescue, or Davita Dialysis Unit 7785 N. State St. Lowville, N.Y. 13367 to the attention of Sumer or Alice.
