John Steve Muha

 

Constableville- John Steve Muha, 89, of Constableville, passed away on December 26, 2019, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, while surrounded by the loving care of his family.

John was born in Boonville, to Joseph and Catherine Girgerek Muha and received his education in West Leyden Central School. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for several companies; the last twenty five years of employment was with Barrett Paving Materials, prior to his retirement. He had a love for metal detecting, hunting and fabricating wood stoves and wood splitters in his garage workshop. John was always available to help anyone with any mechanical problems and loved the challenge of being able to fix anything.

John is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Constableville. They were united in marriage on May 22, 1954, at St. Mary’s Church, Constableville. This was a blessed union which celebrated over sixty five years. John is also survived by his sons, Paul Muha, Boonville; Nathan Muha, Merritt Island, Florida; and Julian (Lisa) Muha, Boonville and grandson, Chad Muha, Merritt Island, Florida. John is survived by one brother, Joseph (Jane) Muha, Boonville. He is predeceased by his daughter, Bertha Muha; on January 29, 2018, daughter-in-law, Mickie Muha; brothers, Paul, William, Louis, Michael and sisters, Mary, Dorothy and Katherine Muha, who died as an infant.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in the spring, in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Constableville, on a date and time to be announced. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Constableville Fire Department, PO Box 438, Constableville, NY 13325. The Muha family wishes to extend their gratitude to Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville for their kindness and compassion given to John during his brief illness. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
